✦ Impulse control & prey drive
✦ Building focus in distracting environments

These are just a few examples. Training is always tailored to the individual dog and the goals of the person on the other end of the leash.
“My foundation as a trainer was built through hands-on education at Kennelwood Academy for Professional Dog Trainers, where learning extended far beyond the classroom into daily work with a wide variety of dogs.
During my training, I worked inside 10 professional training facilities across Kennelwood Pet Resorts locations throughout the St. Louis area weekly, on top of the daily training at the academy campus. These environments provided experience with many different dogs, temperaments, and training challenges. Immediately after graduating, I moved to Wyoming to continue my work in the field, training scent detection service dogs.
This experience further shaped the thoughtful, individualized approach I bring to every dog and handler I work with today.”

Every dog learns differently. Our training focuses on clear communication, building trust, and reinforcing the behaviors you want to see more of.

At Seeking Liberty, we don’t force any single training philosophy or marketing-labeled method on our clients.
Our professional education exposed us to a wide range of training ideologies and techniques, and we believe every dog and handler team is different. Because of that, we don’t strictly adhere to labels like “force free” or “balanced training.”
Instead, we focus on exploring what works best for you and your individual dog. Training is a collaborative process, and the goal is to find methods that both the dog and the handler feel confident using.
-
We will start by discussing your dog’s history, behavior, and what you would like to improve. From there, we begin hands-on training exercises so you can start building new skills right away.
You will leave the session with:
Clear training techniques to practice
Exercises tailored to your dog
Guidance on how to continue reinforcing progress between sessions
The goal is to give both you and your dog the tools and confidence to succeed together.
-
Yes. No two dogs learn exactly the same way, which is why all training sessions and techniques are tailored to the individual dog and handler.
Training plans are built around your dog’s personality, motivation, and learning style so that progress is both effective and sustainable.
-
Private training allows sessions to be fully customized to your dog’s needs, learning style, and environment.
Unlike group classes where every dog follows the same curriculum, private sessions focus specifically on your training goals and challenges. This allows us to move at the right pace for your dog and address behaviors that may not be possible to work on in a class setting.
Private training is especially helpful for:
Dogs who struggle with reactivity or distractions
Owners who want more one-on-one guidance
Puppies who need individualized foundations
Dogs working toward advanced skills
Working privately also allows training to take place in real-life environments, helping dogs learn how to apply their skills in everyday situations.
-
Seeking Liberty offers private training sessions in your home or at a location that best supports your training goals.
Working in real-life environments helps dogs learn how to apply their training in everyday situations.
-
This depends on your dog’s training goals, current skill level, and how consistently the exercises are practiced between sessions.
Some dogs make progress quickly, while others benefit from additional guidance and structured training over time. During your first session we can discuss a plan that fits your goals.
